Ergonomic Assessment
In recent years, musculoskeletal disorders have been on the rise in the workplace as more people are working at computers and especially with make-shift set-ups working from home during Covid-19. The goal of a workstation ergonomic assessment is to identify risk factors in your workstation to reduce potential musculoskeletal disorders related to repetitive stress and impaired posture. Proper office ergonomics – including correct chair height, adequate equipment spacing and good desk posture – can help you and your joints stay comfortable at work.
In-Home Ergonomic Assessment (2 sessions)
The in-home assessment includes two home visits. Initially, the therapist will come to your home, assess your workstation, assess related areas of pain you are experiencing, and offer solutions to improve your ergonomic set-up and posture. The average length of time for this appointment is 1.5-2 hours. The second visit occurs 1-2 weeks later, after some adjustments have been made. This will include a re-assessment of the new workspace and more attention (treatment, exercises, patient education) to any related areas of pain. The average length of the second visit is 45-60 minutes.
Virtual Ergonomic Assessment
The virtual assessment includes filling out a self-assessment form online, with uploaded photos of the client sitting at the workstation. The clinician will write a report and have a virtual appointment with the client at a scheduled time, to offer solutions for an improved ergonomic workstation.
